“In 2018 I was humbled to be awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study leading financial literacy initiatives around the world. A 6 week trip through the US, Canada and the UK to compliment my ongoing research In Australia and hopefully more countries to come in the future.
In March this year I started my trip armed with 4 simple questions:
1) How can we effectively engage with teenagers and young adults on the topic of personal finances?
2) How do we bridge the gap between classroom knowledge / education and practical real money skills?
3) How can we equip and empower parents to proactively engage in their child’s financial education journey?
4) What technologies and platforms are being used to enhance the learning experience?
In hindsight my questions were embarrassingly inadequate because what I learnt was so much more.
In this webinar I will share with you what I have learnt so far, what appears to work, what doesn’t, the common themes and direction of financial literacy through Australia, Canada, The UK and The US.”
